About EcoWB
EcoWB is a nonprofit that partners with communities hit hardest by environmental and climate crises—connecting them with the skills, knowledge, and support they need to protect and restore the ecosystems their lives depend on.
EcoWB was founded in 2011 by three fisheries biologists who recognized that many communities confronting environmental challenges lacked access to the expertise needed to address them—expertise that existed, but was often inaccessible due to geography, cost, or institutional barriers. They launched EcoWB to bridge that gap, connecting global specialists with local communities—not as outside experts, but as project collaborators.
Today, our global network of 1000+ volunteer professionals works alongside in-country partners to co-develop practical, science-based solutions rooted in local wisdom. With a flexible, largely remote working model and a global volunteer network, we’re not bound by the geographic or thematic restrictions that often limit larger organizations.
As a result, we’ve created something special: a model that combines scientific rigour with community wisdom, placing local leadership at the heart of environmental recovery. Each project is an opportunity to rebuild balance between people and planet—supporting ecosystems, strengthening resilience, and helping communities and nature thrive together
Join as a Corporate Partner
Partnering with EcoWB is a chance to put your team’s skills to work in a way that’s meaningful—for your company, your staff, your stakeholders, and for communities around the world facing serious environmental challenges.
Your teams won’t just be behind the scenes. They’ll meet community leaders and local partners via video-calls, see where their support is going, and help shape solutions that are practical, sustainable, and locally led. Whether it’s through pro bono support, team fundraising, or adopting an entire project, there are lots of ways to get involved.
Most of our collaborations happen remotely, but for companies looking to take things further, in-person engagement can sometimes be an option too. Last summer, our partners at POWER Engineers took their team to Nairobi, Kenya to support a project on the ground—you can read about their experience

Partnering with EcoWB brings your sustainability goals to life—uniting your team around shared purpose while driving meaningful impact in the communities that need it most.

EcoWB’s work is driven by professionals like you—people with real-world skills and experience in environmental consulting and related fields. Many of our volunteers are GIS specialists, marine and terrestrial ecologists, hydrologists, project managers, engineers, and sustainability experts who lend their expertise to help communities tackle complex environmental challenges. If you work in any of these areas, there’s a good chance we need your skills.
And if your background is in something else—like business administration, finance, fundraising, communications, or marketing—there are still plenty of ways to get involved. Our volunteer committees help run every part of the organization, and we’re always looking for passionate people to join us.
Most of our work is remote and pro bono in nature, so you can contribute from anywhere. It’s flexible, easy to fit around your schedule, and only occasionally involves in-person travel.
